Mr. Ayodeji Aladejana
Postdoctoral Researcher · Climate Science
Studying how West African communities adapt to a changing climate — through data, fieldwork, and the wisdom of the land.
About
A scientist rooted in Ibadan, listening to the land and the data in equal measure.
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Ibadan, working at the intersection of climate modeling, agricultural systems, and community-led adaptation. My work asks how the people most affected by climate change can also be the ones shaping its solutions.
Before Ibadan, I completed my doctorate at the University of Cape Town as a Mandela Rhodes Scholar, with field seasons across the Niger Delta, the Sahel, and coastal Lagos.
"Climate science cannot only be about parts-per-million. It must also be about the woman in Maiduguri who reads the sky and decides whether to plant."
